  2. From the greek.”a sense of harmonious and beautiful proportions and balance.” From equational reasoning and the logical definition of symmetric relationships. And in the classical sense of the word it applies directly to the structure of many algorithms. It is the best word I know to summarize the idea of consistent, composable, and correct while hinting at an underlying elegance.
